Letter from the Ron Kroenke - October 2006

Greetings to all from the Office of the President!

Election time is near and now is the time to implement changes for the betterment of our group, especially with regard to a demographic I feel is underserved at the local and National level. Generation X, of which I am barely a member at the age of 42, has at last reached a level of maturity and prominence from which will emerge much of our leadership, in my opinion. Though the Boomer Bubble has not yet popped, it is fortunate that so many enthusiastic and dynamic younger adults are beginning to take an interest in filling the roles that will be left void or stagnate as the more tenured among us move to pasture. Given that I should have a few good years left in me and am running for office, I would like to shift attention to a potential new candidate for the AMC. Michelle Wojtaszek is a long time Local Secretary who has contributed much to Mensa, particularly toward Project InkSlinger, and is now determined to run for Chair of our National Board of Directors. Due to regulations, Michelle is registering by petition, and a printable form and further info is available at her new website: http://www.verbalintelligenceagency.org/MensaCampaign . I have spoken with Michelle and find her to be a thoughtful, dynamic and extremely accessible person who will network extensively with our membership and undoubtedly effect positive change in our organization, regardless of the outcome of the current AMC election. Please take a few minutes to register your thoughts at the site, and feel free as always to drop me an e-mail.
